Spiders love the heat of the summer and they love to hide in your flower beds and bushes. Another pest that likes to hang out around your home and still enjoying the warm heat of the late summer days. However, nights will start to get cool and pests will start to look for places to get into your home. Here are some common pests to look for:

Spiders

Some of the most common spiders found in Utah are the black widow spider, the large orb spider, woodlouse, and the jumping spider. These spiders are not easy to control and can be dangerous, especially the black widow spider.

Bees

The Africanized honey bee, in particular, is a defensive and aggressive hybrid of a common European honey bee, and an African bee that was transported into Brazil. Now, this particular bee has been found in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Although attacks of the Africanized honey bees are not common, we may still expect an increase of attacks, especially in populated areas.

Cockroaches

Although many people think cockroaches are not as prevalent in Utah they are in the state and are growing rapidly. Cockroaches are one of the most difficult pests to eradicate in Utah because they can easily hide and they can easily breed. There are four main roaches that are common in Utah, and they are The German cockroach, the American cockroach, Oriental cockroach, and the brown banded cockroach. It is necessary to properly identify the cockroach that is infesting a home or a structure before developing an Integrated Pest Management plan. This way, it will be easier for homeowners to get rid of the pest.

Wasps:

This time of year they love to make nests in your eves, under BBQ covers, around un-used chairs and anywhere else they can set up camp for a period of time.
